Pasmin is a protease that releases arachidonic acid (AA) and melanocyte-stimulating hormone alpha (α-MSH), both of which have pigment-stimulating properties. In addition, by blocking the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, TXA indirectly reduces the production of the release of b-FGF, which is a potent melanocyte growth factor and promotes melanocyte proliferation.
